it would work but just remeber that the smaller the water volume the harder it will be to keep the params where u want them.... if u can a 20g or even a 10 would be a better choice

I wouldn't reccomend a tank that small to start in SW...although it *could* be done. Best suggestion is to research research research. Read through the great stickies in this forum that our salties have put together and pick up a couple of the books that they suggest. Although its fishkeeping....SW is a whole different ball game than FW.

try the nano salt forum, there are some great threads there on the set up of a small system. I agree, that small is pushing it for a starter though it can be done it can lead to early disappointment as things get out of whack really fast in a small tank, you don't have the time you would have with a larger water volume. I agree that a minimum of a 10 and realistically a 20g would be better.
