Karma is the ruler of the aquarium ;) He's my 12" male Midas who is just over two years old now, and a complete monster.

Thanks Katie...that's why I love my monsters sooo much, they have amazing individual personalities. They're wet pets in the truest form ;)

Lol no whole chickens...but I bet he'd like chicken. He eats nothing but Hikari Gold large pellets ;) Thanks Freddy.

I second that, just by the pictures alone! I can only imagine seeing him in person! I already mentioned this to BigVine, but now you all have done it too! You have given me the fever AGAIN! I guess, I never really lost it. It was supressed by job 1, job 2 & school, but now that I am working from home..........:D *BOUNCINGS *BOUNCINGS :D

Very handsome fellow!
Does he actually nip at your fingers when you stick them in the water with him? I'm assuming he'll eat feeder fish? (those guppies are screwed!) lol

...He tries to get my fingers when they're NOT in the water. Lets just say, if my hand has to go into that tank, that fish comes out and gets to sit in a bucket until I'm done ;)

He's in a 75gal atm, fish chic...its smaller than I'd like, and he will certainly get a 100+gal when I can, but its sufficient for him if need be.

Lol...my little angels (still under 2") nip at my arm hair when I'm working on the aquascaping, and it gets uncomfortable. I can't imagine how it would feel to have a Midas the size of yours tear into you!

This is what Karma did to me the one time he managed to get my hand...it was totally my fault; as a subadult, Karma was a VERY timid fish, and I never thought twice about putting my hand in the tank while he was in it...he just hid in the corner while I cleaned his tank. This was the start of his aggressive attitude though, and since that day I haven't put my hand in there with him, lol. Anyway, he managed to do this at about 6" - half the size he is now - and only barely grazing my finger as I yanked it out of the way. It bled for about 20 minutes, and I have a faint scar from it:

Ouch! I'm glad to see that you didn't lose any fingers. :D
I haven't gotten any 'battle scars' from my fishtanks yet, but I'm sure I will as my crays grow up...or even from the convicts, maybe? lol

I'm guessing you must have yanked your hand out of the water right away, so probably you didn't really bleed into the tank? (BV picturing turbulent water, cloudy with blood, as Karma enters into a voracious feeding frenzy)

Nice to know that this is now 'water under the bridge' and you two have found a way to get along (i.e. putting him in bucket while working on the tank). :p

Lol thanks everyone. He's definitely a pet, and my baby :)

BV, lol, no, I didn't bleed into the water :p He doesn't like the bucket method much, but he can't seem to put together biting me = into the bucket, so it'll have to do ;)
