I know you can`t use table salt for your tank, but I have this stuff that is sea salt for cooking. It dose not have iodide but dose have calcium silcate. Can I use this in my tank or am i stupid????:rolleyes:

I would avoid it, Calcium silicate could cause some issues... Namely a probable increase in KH (carbonate hardness) and higher silicate levels can do some interesting things in a tank. (I have a personal theory about silicate levels and blue green algae growth)

You actually can use table salt (iodized) in a fish tank - it wouldn't hurt the fish - but if you have any invertebrates (shrimp) you will have problems.
