"Kissing" Convicts need help.....

i have a question u guys miight have an answer to: why are my convicts "kissing eachother." I have read some where that this isnt some type of effectionate thing but actually a way they fight??? any ideas on what it actually is and whether I should buy something to fix the problem or simply jsut remove one of them??? thanks before hand on any help.

how do you sex them? is it whether their bellies are orangeish?? I have them in a 75 gallon with other convicts. two of the convicts are adults about 6-8 inches and the other ones are 3-4 inches. it is the smaller ones that are doing this.

Yes females will have an orange belly although in some strains even the males will too. You can also tell with the fins. Males have longer and more pointy top and anal fins. Like I said your best bet is probably going to remove the 'problem' fish.

Its what they do, take one out...the next one will start the same thing. Unless you have serious aggression problems (fish hiding, torn up)...the fighting and split fins are part of keeping a tank with fish like that.
