i wouldnt suggest tankmates, b/c if you DO get a pair the kribs could possibly wipe them out.

i dont think i would honestly do more than a pair of kribs in a 10 gallon......they make such a nice little tank that tankmates are not needed, nor would i try to do it with that kind of real estate.

dunno, i think some people here are keeping kribs right now....hopefull they can help out a bit.

i've been leaning toward a 20G, mostly cuz i'd like to get them some kind of tankmates......

not sure what would work well though
I know that if the kribs actually try to mate they will get extremely territorial........

any ideas for tankmates would be helpful though.
I was thinking about just getting some zebra danios in with them..... since they're cheap, playful and cool looking fish :D

A breeding pair of kribs would work in a 10g with no other tankmates. Kribs seem to be picky about who they share the tank with (within their own species). If you can find a couple that will share the tank, then a 10g would be fine.

In a 20g, you can have tankmates, but the Kribs will be dominant, so get quick-swimming tankmates.

I agree- the bigger the better. 20G is fine for a krib pair but more is better. I advise Danios because they are way too quick and stay at the surface whereas Kribs stay at the bottom. This way even if the Kribs do breed, and become murderous, the Danios will likely survive- whereas Corys would get wasted ESPECIALLY in a 20G or under. Kribs are lovely pets though and very easy to care for. The water needs to be "wet"- thats it. PH, GH, KH, dont matter. Temp can be anywhere from 25 to 30. Eaaaaaasy fish.
