Kuhli Loach; about them?

Hye ppl i was wodnering if you could give me details about kuhli loachs it seems that mine likes to hide!!!

Mine hide too, it's natural. They like each others company. I have 3 and they are wonderful little fish. Although they are not fond of melafix. It drives mine nuts for about 30 minutes then they are fine. They are a welcome to any community aquarium.

they will hide, even in large groups they hide, it just makes them feal safer hiding

Yeah, I have 3. I hardly ever see them but when I do it is a joy. I heard their nocturnal.(sp?)

I have 3, in a 12 gallon community, that, until I filed it up with plants to the point that I couldn't see any fish until they were in my fave, I saw them all the time. Now, i see the occational little nose poking out from a plant some where, but for the most part, they spend there days sleeping under the tall leaves of the green hygro and the red willisii crypts.

Strange, in 30 gallon my are always out. They like to hang out on top of a rock at seem to like watching me.

Does the kuhli burry and dig around in the substrait? I would like to get some for my planted tank, but dont want to bother if they might dig up my plants.

Actually, When I first had kuhlis they were out all the time. They were my favorite fish. But when I got some for my 30g I never saw them, so maybe it is just in the personality of the fish.

I don't think they would hert the plants, they can dig in the substrate but not deep enough to hert anythink. Well thats what I think.

i have 2 they both look funny hiding in the sand with there heads one end qand there tails out the sand the other i love this fish

woudlnt worry about digging unless you have small gravel or sand, they are really quite small, they may get 3" but the are only like a waurter of an inch think
