Kuhli loach Gender?

I have 1 kuhli loach in my tank at the moment and i was wondering is there any way to tell a male kuhli from a female kuhli ?

I'm not sure but I have heard the only way to tell is to kill it and look inside but females may become gravid and seem a little plumper. I wonder if they will lay eggs without a male present that would be a sure sign.

Shape of the fish when its an adult seems to be the key. It would be hard to tell the gender of ONE in a tank though.

3+ is the optimum number of kuhlis. They like to play together. Just sayin...
