I can go and take a pic of the male,
The fry are about 1/4" which is not odd. The female is only 2" however. which IS odd. she dumped about 10 fry. (if you look at that picture up there again you can use the typical Hagen biosponge filter as a size reference)

the flashed washed it out so this photo does not do it justice. I might be the man of many pictures but I need practice

very nice brother!

i love the overhanging lip expression of the labeotropheus. it is great. :)

in my experience with these guys, the males CONSTANTLY pursued the females....which would lead me to think that one male with several females would be a good way to keep them

what do you think?

aside from that, they dont seem to be too aggressive and are probably good for beginners....i need to start recommending them.

I keep a pair in the 65.
and a single male in the 110. these are 3 that I picked up at some auctions a while back
If I had the money to make the investment I'd get a breeding colony of wild ob's... haven't had that opportunity yet.

the females all look the same, and the males are all actually the same too, they breed out in alot of different varieties of males, thats my favorate thing about them, you can have just them in a tank and get tons of different colors, the females are the standard peach with ob spots

I guess it's technically the same as inbreeding discus , it's one species (lab. fuelleborni) but it gets hairy when you start mixing different catch points.... assuming they're wild of course.
if you have a vat full of tank raised fish tossing in a few wild males can not hurt no matter where they are from.
