Lake Tang vs. Lake Malawi

Well im wanting african cichlids again. Im having trouble deciding what i want. I like brichardi's but can you mix them with any other fish from lake tang? I also like pretty much every type of mbuna, so that doesnt help at all. What lake do you prefer? Im looking for something that breeds well and looks amazing, and can be mixed with a few different fish.

Oooo this is tough lol. Both lakes have beautiful cichlids. I would have to say Lake Tang. cichlids. What tank are they going to go in?

Well im either going to move my oscar to the 75 and put them in the 55 or i will put them in the 75 and not move anything. I havent decided yet.

I say move them into the 55gal. Zues will like the extra space

Could i add any julies to a brichardii colony?

Personally I'm a big fan of Malawi cichlids. They tend at least to me be brighter and a lil more active. I'm still pretty dumb when it comes to fish but those are the ones I like.

Yeah, I think you could get away with the full sized julies and a smaller, controlled colony of brichardi in a large enough tank. A 55 should be large enough, but I've not tried it so it would be an experiment. But that's half the fun, trying something new.

My personal opinion, but if I want just color in a tank I'll toss in a box of Crayola crayons.
