large tank water changes?

i am just woundering how the people with large saltwater tanks do their water changes, obviously getting the water out is the easy part, but how do you get 20-40 gallons of fresh saltwater back in? buckets seems kinda labor intensive

do you all just premix in a "large" container(a small trash can for ex), and use a pump to move the water into the main tank?

I have a large plastic garbage can that I keep in a storage room that I will fill up with 5 gallon water buckets (to know how much salt and addictives to add) then use a rio 1200 with flexible tubing to return. This also makes it easy to get the temperature I want and I can premix at my own convienence
