I did about a 20% water change sunday night, but before i did i tested by water. Ammonia was about 2ppm and NitrIte was in thr 4ppm range and NitrAte was almost 5ppm.
So monday night I checked the water again, ammonia was .25ppm but nitrite was 5ppm, the highest on the test kit i have, and NitrAtes were 5ppm again. So i did another 20% water change.
Should I do a larger water change? The tank is only 5 gallons, but is planted pretty well, about 10 stalks of moneywort, 8 or so ambulia and 2 bushes of chain micro swords. The plants are looking really good, nice and green. I also have 2 zebra danios in there helping me cycle, they are soo cool.
I've heard people stuck in the nitrIte stage for a while, any tips for getting over it.
