GREAT PIC!!

Dont see why you would think we would not appreciate it??

BTW . . . how big does it get and how much did you pay?

I love the look of Bichirs but do not have a big tank (29 gal). Guess I will have to wait until I get that dream 100 gal.

SomethingFishy....

Not EVERYONE has the impeccable style and grace to appreciate the beauty of a bichir! There are actually people who find them downright ugly, if you can believe THAT!!! ;)

It will eventually grow to about 24 inches but it may take 10 or more years to do it. BTW....a 29 gallon makes a great grow-out tank for bichirs and you could probably keep one in a tank that size for a couple of years before having to move it into more spacious quarters. I keep most of my moderate-sized bichirs in 20gallon Long tanks because bottom area is more important to these fish than water depth. The smaller bichirs (like the P. ornatipinnis in the picture) are doing their growing in 10 gallon tanks before moving into larger tanks. I paid about $30 U.S. for this one.
