LEAST favorite fish?

Ok, so there have been lots of posts on what fish people like but are there any fish out there that you would wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole? What fish would you stear other people away from?

An obvious example would be injected glass fish. I was talking to a guy in a fish store the other day and he pointed out some of these and told me how cool he thought they were. I explained to them that they were injected overseas and that they will eventually fade (if they live long enough to do so). I wish stores wouldn't keep buying them to sell, but I've talked to several owners and they say they don't really like it either but that they are a huge money maker and it would hurt their buisness to stop.

I've also noticed a newer trend in dying blood parrots that I don't really like.

are we talking about least favorite fish based on personality or appearance? because if its appearance, which i suspect it is, then this post makes me very sad... poor fish, its not their fault that they're ugly!

Any reason that you don't like them or wouldn't put them in your tank. Don't worry I don't think we are hurting their feelings by calling them ugly.

My LFS rules. They are the only game in town besides Petsmart so they are successful enough to be above carrying injected glassfish. As far as least favorite fish, any fish that has been turned into the square patty of awful known as the McDonalds Filet-O-Fish. Those are truly terrible.

i saw dyed white skirt tetras the other days i was very sad for them their condition wasn't very good and the colors on some were actually fading. i dont know why people need to dye fish they already come in every color right? peace

Yep, I just saw a bunch of fish labeled "candy tetras" that were dyed every color af the rainbow. I wonder if most of the people that buy them realize they are dyed or just think its natural for a particular type of fish to come in seven pastel and 6 flourescent colors? I also wonder if these fish live long enough to fade in these peoples aquariums. I'm guessing that a lot of them die due to uncycled tanks and then the people just give up on fish keeping.

i was givin a black and oarnge suppossed to be a bumble bee catfish. i was told by the person who gave it to me i was new to the hobbie at the time. it was about 6 inches long. so i put it in my tetra tank and two days later after i woke up the second morning 4 of my favorite tetra were fish food for the catfish so that is why i dont like that fish.

We have those tetras at my lfs only they call them mixed berry tetras. They are on the bottom in the corner where no one sees them though. At least my LFS doesn''t carry the dyed glassfish.

I'm new to fish keeping so I only have experience with a limited type of fish (the ones I've owned). Of those my least favorite(s) are the tetras. They're just boring and really don't do much. They are hardy, but that's about it.

yea i wish i had a flowerhorn its so ugly but scaryugly. Coz wen some kids come round my house trik or treating i put on my mask and hop out the door and go bluuhh and it hardly ever works but if i had a flower horn i could grab it n hold it in front of em n go bllluuhhhhhh

i think that tetras are a great addition to a community tank. my serpae tetras add excitement to the tank. they're always goofing around, and i like their orange color!
