lemon tetras..

for some reason, some times my lemon tetras change from their normal yellow coloe, to a pale white color. any reason ?? is it sick? what should i do ? or are they normally like that ?? i have 2 in a 20g tank with some other fish

they often lose their colours when they are frightened. Lemons tend to get frightened very easily - even doing a water change freaks them out. You definatly have to have more then 2 because they find comfort in a school. you should have at least 5 of them for them to feel safe. it also helps if they are with other community fish that dont get scared much such as guppies.

I have seen this color response in several of my tetras, especially the glo-lites, and it always seems to be after changing the water. So I guess I second Tetra girl.
