k- since this is the beginner forum, we can play a little "game" to help people on deciding which fish would go well in a tank. i'll name a couple of fish, and we can all list good tankmates to go along with it.

let's start with... bala sharks and a common pleco. go! *GOLDFISH*

I'd put tiger barbs with the bala sharks and pleco, though. Maybe a gourami?

eh- disregard the tanksize; it just gives an array of fish to choose from in the case that you want to mix them: minimum for balas + others, say 55 gal for your sake

Throw in a few Rosy Barbs and 3-4 cory's, for bigger companion 3-4 silver dollars
