I have a tetra that I absolutely forget the name of. He was accidently put in the bag when I bought some mixed tetras. He is the size and shape of a small pristella however he is clear with black tips on his top and bottom fin, he has a black dot on his side like a bleeding heart (which have a red one, I know), his tail is red and his eyes are completely black. He is happily hanging out with the pristellas, but I would like to get more of the same (I don't want him lonely and besides, he's pretty). Help!

Hmm..

Black phantoms have black tails but otherwise sounds like one..
Red phantoms dont have an all black eye and are red not clear..
Serpae tetras are also likely but again have a red body colouration.

I'm guessing it's either a hyphessobrycon or a hemigrammus species based on the shape you described, there aren't any other commonly available pristella species in the hobby.

HOWEVER as sweetpickles7 said, we can't be much help without a picture if possible!

I know this is an old post, but it is still bugging me. The only thing I can figure, is that it is a pristella with odd colouring. Looks just like a pristella, except there is no yellow on the fins and the eyes are completely black. Seems to hang out with the pristellas, so I guess it is okay. Have had no luck getting a good picture, will keep trying though.

Blue_ram, what a gorgeous fish! But alas, that is not it. Big54bob, not a bleeding heart either. I tried taking some pictures, but couldn't get a good one, I will keep trying as I know it is difficult to help when you can't see it. Thank you all for all the guesses though!
