my lfs has a whole bunch of zebras...
first time i ever saw one in person...
so cute and active...
they were about 2.5" long...

about 9+ in tank @ $150 each

Its a classification of plecos/catfish. L stands for the family Loricariidae. They have hundreds of L numbers. Its basically just so they can't mix up common names.

Examples
Zebra Pleco = L046 or L-46
King Tiger Pleco = L066 or L-66

Am I the only one here to think that $150 for a 2 inch fish is ridiculous ?

How high would you guys go for a Zebra ?

If they command such high prices (eg if you will pay that much) is it any wonder they are diminishing in the wild.

I'd go $100 thats it.

And once i aquired some i'd make it my priority to breed them and get some fish distributed in the hobby (i'd sell them for a low price). If you buy high just to keep.......oh yeah the diminish in the wild. But i acctually want to get the species going again. I'd devote my hobby to breeding them for a while......i really would. Hardly any other fish, just the zebs.
