my sister got me a Energy Savers 20000K Marine Flo 15 Watt 18 Inch for my tank and i was wonder if 20000k is too much??? heard 10000k was a good amount

Color temperature isn't a matter of quantity. 20k K is simply the color of the bulb, not its intensity.

no it's just the color of the light like mine are attic blue which really brings out the color of the corals
BTW if you want to turn it into a reef tank it's not going to work watt wise

Well, as has been discussed in other thread, wattage isn't the best way to measure an amount of light, but for a reef tank with relatively low lighting requirements, you're looking at 150-200 watts.

(Like I said, that's a poor way of describing it, but you get the idea)

umm... you dont need "filters" in SW... so that shouldnt be a factor in price, or wattage usage.
