Hello everyone.
I would like to increase my light output on my 50 gallon tank. Currently it has a 17 watt flourensecnt bulb. I purchased a Grow light designed for plants and or flowers. I would like to used the 75 watt bulb. I don't want anymore than 1.5 watts per gallon otherwise I'm looking at Co2. If I used this bulb in my 50 gallon tank it would give it 1.5w pergallon. Would this be fine for my tank? I plan on getting some live plants. Does it matter if the lights is designed for a greenhouse enviroment. Thanks:rolleyes:

No it doesn't matter if it was made for green house or not as far as useability goes, but a 75 watt light isn't going to work if the ballast in your light strip is only rated for a 17 watt bulb.
