Lighting for 35 Gal. Hex

Just curious if anyone know's what type of lighting I may need to get my tank going. I just want to put some LR in for now and I don't kill the micro organisms in the rock.. I'm on a pretty tight budget because I just had a baby girl 11 weeks ago..I'm asking because the guy at the LFS was recommending a light that cost $250 or so. Any input would be appreciated

The cheapest power compact you can rig up. Or go on ebay and if anybodys trying to sell a single 150 Watt MH for silly money.
