Lighting for O's ??

I have 2 48 inch long lights for my oscar tank the lights arnt anything special just from home depot I want to maybe stup sometihng for day light an moonlight ? what is everyone's opinion on this ???
or instead of a moonlight maybea black light ? or si tha to hard on the fish ? i would liek a small amount of light at night just to give it a moon light affect

I still dont understand the whole led thing an wiring it up im not the best electrician out there lol

but the rope light sounds great
when ya run it though across the tank should ya do the whole tank or just in a ball in one spot on the tank ?

does anyone have any pics of this ?

I would say, if you don't have electrician skills, get the rope lights. You can either run them around the edge under the hood or have a ball in the middle, it's really up to you, and what will fit under your hood best. If you have a big hood and get a long rope, you can do both :)

Hmm, caution with those ropelights..they can get warm, they arent floresent. I have some I used to decorate around my dorm at halloween last semester, they were great looking, but I had to be carefull they werent near anything that could catch fire...
