Lighting question

I got the tank which is a 29 gallon and it doesnt have a hood but it has a light strip.. I was wondering which kind of lighting is better? Incandescent or Flouresent(sp) The light it has is in there is real bright. The bulb says 20w on it but there is no other kind of info on it. Is 20w good?

I would go for the Flouresent. Incandescent is the stardard light bulb. 20W will be fine for a 29G tank. Unless you want to do plants. then you will have to upgrade.

OK thanks Maha. For the plants I was only looking at the Java fern and the Java moss. I want to keep it somewhat simple right now since Im still just starting out..

You should be fine with the Java Moss and Jave Fern with the 20W bulb.

One more question. Would I need to buy a new strip thingee or can I just changed the bulb?

To add more light you will need to buy a different Fixture. All-Glass Aquarium make 2 and 3 bulb fixtures.
