Lighting upgrade question?

My hood has a 40W bulb. I also have a 29 gallon lamp up there too. That one is 15W.

How can i upgrade to 3-4 watts? That would mean 165-220 watts for the tank.

It seems impossible since most ballasts are 40w rated. That would be 4-5 48" bulbs...


What am i missing?

Hi there, first of all how long is your tank, and how wide is your hood?

there are 2 options - for your high wattage requirement - retrofit, or a completely new hood. check out http://www.ahsupply.com for just one solution.
