Are you looking at the 4x54w? That will give you just under 4 wpg going by the numbers. You can't make it anymore than that because of any type of reflectors, its a mathematical impossibility. HOWEVER, it's important to note that just because a light fixture produces x amount, this does not mean that your going to get all that light directed into your tank. So the better the reflectors, and the type of bulb do play a factor, and is going to improve the factors of lighting in your tank, but it's not going to raise the WPG.

Ok, I dont remember who I was talking to when I heard that. I believe thats what he was trying to say, but you give a much better explanation.

Yes, I'm going 4x 54. Now, is there a way to measure the actual amount of light getting into your tank?

The Lux meters are pricey to me for just checking the lighting every now and then. If you want to pony up the dough for it, go for it. But if you just want to check once I might try to hunt down someone that has one and borrow it. Then again I'm El-Cheapo. :)

How many WPG will This give me on a 55gal? I've heard that because of the way the lights reflect down into the tank...it will be over the 4wpg you would think it to be.
This looks to be another model in the same line of lighting that I just bought for my 29G on Saturday! I haven't had it long, but I like it thus far. The lunar LED is something I hadn't planned on getting, but it's a nice extra feature.
