Live Rock needs

Now that I have LR in my tank, do I need to be running my T5 lights on them, I havent been running the lights with nothing in the tank.

You can run them for a minimal amout of time (not the full lighting cycle), say about 2-3 hours a day until it cycles or you add some coral or something.)

The live rock doesn't need light. It can encourage algae growth. I'd put my lights on for a couple of hours to look at the rock/tank while I was cycling, but it's not needed.

I would put the light on for a few hours a day, this will initiate algaes to start growing and cycle out....diatoms comes to mind
