live rock

ok i have a dilema. i need six pounds of live rock i only have 30 dolars. the uncured live rock at aquatouch is five bucks a pound. i may have a chance of getting a mantis along with it. would the mantis live thrue the cycleing proces? or should i get about 3 pound of the fiji and let that cycle and by the mantis they have there.

don't your think your chances are slim to get a mantis shrimp from the LR , as a freebie ?

yeah but i mean..you have better chance of getting feather dusters and fireworms in your LR so i guess your 2nd option ( buying the mantis and less LR ) is the more appropriate.
You could buy 50% base rock and 50 % LR + mantis if you are really broke...eventually the base rock will become alive

I haven't seen mantis shrimp at aquatouch ever, the same goes for uncured rock (I thought they only had cured)...ram did you see anything else good? any sales?

the have it on the left sid eof the second ile it is seperated from the rest of the tank.

the mantis i got in my tank, hitchihked on my live rock and survived the cycling. but i guess the odds are slim to actually getting one in the live rock.so i would probably get the rock and cross my fingers.
