Lobsters or Crabs w/ my cichlids??

Hi, I have a 55g tank with 4 cichlids in it and I was wondering if there were any lobsters or crabs that could go in there with them? The two I know my pet store has are the electric blue lobster (the one I want) or the fidler crab. Can either of those co-exist with my cichlids?

I'm sorry. I have a convict, texas, yellow severum, and a texas cichlid. what do you think?

I don't have two texas cichlids. I meant to say jack dempsey instead of that second texas cichlid.

Should be fine with either one.

I cant say for sure since i havent tried it but i used to keep fiddlers with my mbuna cichlids with no problems. Start out with a fiddler and if they nip at him dont get anymore crabs/crayfish

I would say probably not but these fish like to eat inverts in the wild. You might pm managuense and ask him.

you could try with one fiddler but i would not put more then 1 jsut to try it out it sounds like a bad idea but it could be possibly

I tried a fiddler in there and he is working out just fine. The cichlids took a couple stabs at him when I first put him in there, but now everything is okay. I really want an Electric Blue Lobster, though. The fiddler and the lobster would definately fight, right? I think I may give it a try...I always have that empty tank I can put him in.

wouldnt the cichilds always be curious and attempt to either eat them or check them out? Resulting in getting nipped by a claw?

No, they aren't really that curious anymore, and when they were they would kinda dart at the crab and the crab was not quick enough with his claw to get them. Hey C_Paan, in your signature where it says electric blue, is that an electric blue lobster?? If so, how does he do with your jack dempsey and firemouth?

lobsters i think are only found in the oceans....
u might be able to get away with a fiddler crab, but i would research that first
