I have a 34 gallon fresh water tank. I have 3 small golden barbs, 4 small platys and one clown loach. This loach is very cool *BOUNCINGS . He is active and social but I have been hearing that even with his other tank buddies being so friendly he needs more of his kind. My LFS said I need to get 2 more but I think that would be waaaaay too many for my size tank. What are your thoughts?
Thanks for your time!

Yes, that would be way too many for your tank, but one will eventually outgrow your tank, too. In general, clowns are miserable alone or in pairs, so three is the minimum number you should keep.

They're really not a good choice for smaller tanks. They'll be OK for a year or two, but they do grow fairly fast when they're young.
