Are the wave boxes exspensive then ?

I think ive seen a device that hooks up to a normal pump and its on a timer that surges power on and off every 2 seconds creating waves.. cheaper ?

no kidding......actually when I mentally add up some of the useless crap I have bought in the past....$500 isn't too bad. Though I am saving my scheckles for a new laptop as mine just fried and it was only a year and two months old....grrrrr....

My LFS has two hooked together on their instore coral display that is effectively a 300 gallon breeder ( only 20 inches deep) - they do work very well, and on bigger tanks you hook two together on one timer. Altho' I have mucho Tunze I don't have one of these...... I have seen a homemade one using a Tunze stream plus single controller jammed into a juwel filter box.
Definitely not worth 500 USD tho, but then again far cheaper outside of US.
