If anyone could please help me by donating a 20g or larger aquarium to me, that would be a great help. Also looking for a small submersable filter.

I am trying to help someone out. This would be for a leopard frog, so it woulden't need to be water tight all the way up, just about 4" or so. Filter can be used or what have you, but must work.

I could also use a piece of scrap glass that could be cut for a devider, some aqurium safe silicone, extra gravel, hides, ornaments, etc... anything that I could help this woman out with for her frog.

Thanks! :)

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think it will work, I have to silicone a small devider into place in it and I can't really afford shipping. I am just trying to help someone out who doesn't have the means to take proper care of her animal.

I'd say I have everything you would need, but I'm not planing on being that far north anytime soon so friad I'm no help at all.

Have you thought about useing a rubbermaid or sterilite container? Not the prettiest sure, but they can sure work in a pinch.

Thanks for trying. Yeah, I have, I would be happy to use one (I use rack systems for the snakes, so I definitly understand how useful rubermaids are), but this is someone I don't know and it's her daughters pet, she didn't even want to take up the space with a 20gal, but I think I have convinced her that that will be the minimum size for the frog to live happily. She wants this to be a display in her daughters room, so I don't think she would go for the tubs. It would also be difficult to make the devider in the tub water tight.

I have a few things to help her, some extra fake plants, and some bedding/moss for the land side, some extra gravel, the glass for the devider, etc... I just need to find a 20gal and a submersable filter. Maybe I can convince her to buy those things, even if she has to save a couple weeks, she has a bit, the tadpole has yet to sprout legs, but he's in one of those walmart find frog habitats that are made out of cheap flimsy plastic.

I have a 10 gallon that has a slow leak, but other than that its in good shape. I just bought a 5.5 gallon yesterday to replace it. It has a hood and light. I'm in Gibsonburg OH, which is about 30 minutes south of Toledo.

Thanks Mo, but 10gal is too small for this poor froggie. 20gal is the MIN. for this guy, but since she doesn't want it to take up much room, I am trying to at least get her into a 20gal.

I know that often Petsmart has 20 gallon long tanks for $25. Not a large investment really. But I don't understand why the longs are so cheap, and a 20 High is still $60. Bah, I like the longs better anyway.

I would also hit up any LFS for tanks. I've found 20 gallons for $10 before because they were used. Also any clubs that may be around.

Thanks, good tip, I could call my favorite store and see what they have, maybe I can find one with a small crack or something, I know they'd give it to us for free LOL We drive an hour to get there just about every week and we have NEVER left that store empty handed, they give us free stuff and/or discounts all the time. Now if I could just get her more interested in making this tank right for her frog, she seems to think that some 5-10gal tank with the gravel slanted to one side and some water is enough. I am taking the simple route and telling her at LEAST get a sub. filter and a 20gal. It's only right, if she's not willing to do that, she should just give me the poor thing and I'll put it in my mom's pond! (Yes it's a native species) I hate it when people just don't get it, or don't want to get it.

My Gf works at petsmart ill ask her to see if she knows of any deals. Another thing is that Petsmart has alot of returned tanks. We have actualy got most of ours from them for free. 2 60g and 1 octogon 55g for nothing. You could always try talking to a manager and see if they would be willing to cut a deal for any returned ones that they cant put back out.

Well she found a tank finally, I will be setting it up for her this weekend if we can find a time for her to drop it off, but I am always looking for free tanks! :) Where are you from?

Till I got to your last word in the last paragraph of your first post. Just summin I thought was funny.

LOL Pure, you have Pleco on the brain! That's great though, I didn't even know there was a plec with that name. LOL

Mystic, do you have AIM, MSN, or Yahoo messenger? I could probably help out one way or another, you're just a hop, skip, and a jump from my mom's house.

Hehe that's awesome (Sorry I missed your reply somehow).

She actually found out it's a BULLFROG!!! I am trying to convince her to let me release the bullfrog in my mom's pond and set her daughter up with a fish tank.

Well they don't seem easy to find, but I was able to find some, they are a little pricy, but I am definitly interested, this is the cutest pic of a pleco I have ever seen LOL. Going for $65 in one ad and then there is this one. :D I want that one! The Flash is the one I chose for my 75's future plans, but I think there's enough room for both if I cut back on some things LOL. Find a place for the others, maybe let one go to someone who has a bigger tank that's not full, I like the flash and leo. frog! :)
