Ok, this is getting to be an epedemic. I lost Reena my female betta to dropsy-like conditions.
I think there is a virus out there that I got somehow. I seperated ALL my bettas, young and old, so there is no more risk of further contamination.
Basically, I am forced to retire my betta barracks, which I spent a lot of time and money creating. The issue I am having is that in practically perfect water conditions (heat, water changes, slow filtration) my adults are dropping every month. This is unacceptable!
Beware, there IS a virus reported that affects bettas. It will have dropsy symptoms and has been, so far, uncurable. Another breeder lost ALL her $100 US breeder pair stock to the virus.
The good news is my betta fry seem to be fine so far.
So, thats it... individual tanks from now on for any betta I will ever own. It's not worth loosing them all.
