For some reason I believe one fish has TB he is showing some signs like the bent spine....that he all of a sudden got.

This morning he is no where to be found, but no I am all freaked out because if it is TB that I can catch it.

I need to clean the tank but I am scared of two things.

1. Dead fish
2. TB

well, if it were me, and I am pregnant so I would be super safe about it. I would drain everything wearing dish gloves and dump it somewhere safe if you have other pets. Then totally tear the tank down and bleach it, the bucket, anything that came into contact with it. Making sure you rinse it out very well and let it air dry.

My zebra danio just got a bent spine too, did your fish get really skinny? Mine is fading away. I was wondering if it could be parasites making her lose weight (apart from the fact that she has lost her appetitie), but that it is this which is making her spine look bent, instead of it really being bent? I read somewhere (Aquatic mag) that a bent spine can also be indicative of an old fish.

i had fish that got the bent spine also. it started with their tails drooping, then over a day or two they turn so theyr whole spine was bent. then they would stay at the bottom and an upsidown u shape and unfortuantly die. i later found out (by process of elimination) that it must have been swim baldder. i had ruled it out bc its mostly common in goldfish and cold water fish, but its all i came up with.
