Lower PH

Any ideas on how to gradually lower the PH in my tank?? It's currently at 8.4!!!! WAY too high!!! I have tried the PH decreaser drops....no change as of yet.....

In my lfs I have seen tablets,which claim to bring your ph to a level you desire,(6.5,7.0).I dont know how good they are as Iv not had to use them,maybe some one who has can tell you more.........

Both of those are bandaides that will not solve the problem. At best they will temporarily lower the pH, but it will quickly level out again naturaly. This just meens more pH changes than is nessicary for your fish to go through.

Is that the pH out of your tap? If it is then I wouldn't worry about changing it. Just about all species you will find in your LFS are very well adapted to tank life and will tolorate many different pH levels. What pH does your LFS have?
