making a DIY light for tank

Since my hood only holds 1 compact fluorescent lamp, I am going to make a DIY. The bulbs I am using are going to be 10W Coralife mini compact fluorescent 50/50 lamps, and I can fit about 4 on the area im going to be using. Is that enough to keep corals such as zoas or mushrooms? or is that too much in the area and would need to ease up on the bulb count?

what tank size?

as im thinking of 6 10w 50/50 bulbs over my 10g

Sounds great if you can fit them. That should put you at a total of 40w, and 8wpg.
