Male ebttas mixed with females?

I am planning on setting up the 2.5 as a betta tank, but i dont like the long fin bettas to much, do plakats( short fins) get mixed inot the females often at petsmarts?

Some females can also be a little aggressive it might be better to get a 10 gallon if you want to get more then one so the fish can get away if harrassed by another betta.

Um, if you don't like the long finned males, why not just get a female? Especially if you can't tell the difference anyways. They have some really nice looking females.

because i want the flaring and the agresiveness, and it will be only one betta, i know how to sex them, the females have the white bump on their stomachs, that is used to lay eggs, males dont, i just dont want to go to petsmart and not find any short finned males mixed in with females

Yes, I have a short finned maile - he's a beautiful turquoise and very aggressive. I bought him at Wal Mart because he was in a container marked "female". Good luck.

well, there was one male there, but he was dead with a white film on him, not the kind i was hopeing for... so now my next option is ordering online

How much flaring and aggressiveness are you expecting with one fish alone in a tank anyways? Just out of curiosity...
