Male or Female Platy? Also is he/she sick?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the world of tropical fish keeping and I was wondering if you could answer a few questions. I recently bought a Platy but I am not sure if my platy is Male or Female. I understand that Female Platy have a rounder underside so am I right in thinking my Platy is female? Also if she is Female could she be pregnant? What do you think?

The second thing is that I found a small white patch on her underside which can be seen on one of the photographs attached. Is this something i should be concerned about or is it just missing a few scales?

Any help you can give me will be much appreciated.

Yeah its a female. She looks pregnant too, but shes prob got a while till she gives birth
I dont think that white patch is anything to worry about, like you said probably a missing scale or something

Definitely a female, I don't see anything wrong with her.
