Male Rams loathe my female ram

I wonder why lately after I trim and remove most of my plants, I see my Male rams Always chasing my female rams and Now I can see bruises (fins torn) I wonder if this normal, is it because that they already have a match/pair before I bought them at my LFS, and now they hate each other or the male hates the female?What should I do, seperate them?

hmm..that sounds kind strange. The male ram that i have is about twice to three times the size of my fremales. Mostly he just chases them but thats about it.
