I remember from past experiences (at least I hope I am right) that male bettas are labyrinth fish and breathe air at the top of the tank. Iam I correct that they do not need air (stones, etc) in the tank since they go to the top to breathe. I have seen several people with bettas in tanks with no filter or anything of the sort and just do frequent water changes. Is this also correct for female bettas as well?
