Mango?

#1
I dropped a chunk of mango into the common plec/angels tank and he is eating it like there is no tomorrow!! Is it safe to make this a standard part of his diet? He already eats the dried algae sheets, shrimp pellets, algae wafers and whatever extras the angel doesn't eat.

I wouldn't feed it too often for water quality issues that it can cause, but yes it's ok to feed plecs fruits sometimes, as long as it doesn't make up the majority of their diet.

As often as I do water changes in their tank I don't forsee a water quality problem :) Thanks for the warning tho, it really never crossed my mind about the WQ being an issue. Maybe ill feed the fruits the nights before WC day :D

He seemed to enjoy it so I may drop it in a couple times a week. Is this too often? I am trying to vary his diet so he doesn't get bored with it. What about cantalope? Or honeydew? Pear slices? (I looked online but cant seem to find a feeding chart!)

"Mango," lol...reminds me of Chris Katan (sp.?) on SNL. :p

Anyway, I was gonna say, nice avatar Heather---even though I'm probably a little late commenting on it.
