I was givin an old 350 but when I was assembling it the little clips broke of the actual canister, then the rubber 0 ring split. :(

SO I went out and bought a new one! *thumbsup2

This thing RULES! I had two HOB filters going in a 28g bowfront. A penguin 100 and a topfin 30 that came with the tank. I strapped this bad boy on there and the water was SPARKLING clean when I woke up this morning. The diffrence is HUGE!! I totally recommend this filter to everyone!

I give it five thumbs up

Should I be using the polish cartridge or the carbon cartridge?

Is it good to switch it up ?

carbon is only needed to remove chemicals, and or medicines from the tank, and it is believed that after a prolonged period of time if left in, the carbon will "deactivate" and leech what it took out back into the tank. It also helps to remove odors, but unless your leaving dead decaying fish/plants or crazily overfeeding you shouln't have any "strange" odors.

The general concensus is to keep carbon out until you need to medicate a tank or if you used some kind of chemical in the tank. I have never used carbon on any of my tanks, never needed to

so far im happy with the performance of my 350 , just not the noise. bit hummy
i put the blue sleeve on and filled the can with ceramic noodles and some carbon just to help with the end of cycling . making sure the water doesnt smell.

you can also add filter floss or anything else to it. plus hook it up to a bio wheel 60.
