Maroon clown acting strange.

about a week ago i bought a maroon clownfish at a lfs and i can only get him to eat with the lights off. when i go near to feed him, he runs away and hids behind something, and then as soon as i leave, he will circle around the tank, and while the food falls down, he won't touch it, however, as soon as i turn the light off, he goes nuts with it. is he just doing it out of normal behavior for maroon clownfish, or is he shy, or what?

He's shy, this isn't at all strange for freshwater or marine fish

Yeah, he actually is starting to warm up to me... when I go to feed him it gets all excited and comes to the surface. He's starting to eat with the lights on, too.

He will notice that when you arrive food does too, that usually is a good thing for animals !! Soon convinces them you are a nice guy...
