matching filter with tank

i have a brand new filter that says up to 20 gals. u think that would be ok for a 10gal tank or em i off by a long shot?

I agree it'll be fine. In fact it might be better. It'll keep your tank cleaner, and some fish even prefer a stronger current.

i have 3 AC 150's and a spong filter on my 30 g.
IMHO, you can never have to much filtration.

Is this for a betta tank... if Yes, then I would say that filter is too much for his tank. Bettas don't like strong currents, they are not designed to swim in current (long fins).

true there is never too much filtration, but it is best to use what is needed and not what is wanted..

there are many fish that dont like strong currents...bettas...endlers...and many others

i'd suggest a UGF for betta but for a tropical community or something in a single species, you should be good to go.

lol my bad guys, i was actually thinken about starting up a 10 gal tank, but i thougth about it for a lil then decided im gonna throw a silver gar in my 50 gal tank. But i need to figure out wat im gonna do with my malawi and barcardiari or wat ever the shizzy it was called
