Hello!

About a month and a half ago I setup my 55g tank and introduced the following:
4 Pseudotropheus socolofi
3 Yellow Tailed Acei
3 Red Zebras
4 Rusty
2 Yellow Labs

There is still very little aggression and everything is going great. A few weeks ago we thought one of the Zebras was getting sick because its mouth looked weird and it was not eating. I had read about them being mouth brooders but I had assumed they were still too young, so that never even crossed my mind. Anyhow, I look very closely today and her mouth is full of fry! Now I do not know what to do so I have a couple questions.

1) How will I ever know if the fry are from another Zebra or from a Yellow Lab (I read that they will breed together?) All three of my zebras are orange, and someone at the pet store told me that the males are blue. Is this always true? Does this mean that the fry are from a Yellow Lab?

2) When they leave her mouth, do they stand any chance of surviving in the main tank? Will they be eaten? If I wanted some of them to survive, could I put her in a tank by herself? Will she accidentally release them while I am moving her, meaning will it be too much stress or anything? Also, if I did put her in a separate tank, will she be fine to live with them when they leave her mouth until they get larger?

3) Lastly, this applies more to the first question. If they do end up being “hybrids,” is this bad? I assume they could not be sold if they were hybrids, but would I still be able to give them away on craigslist?

Thanks in advance! I freaked out when I realized they were babies, and I need a lot of help!
