Metal Halide Fixture

Hey tank,

After the holiday I have been thinking about purchasing a Metal Halide Fixture. I see this type is easily found at my LFS. Do any of you currently use the Aqualight?

Any positives or negatives about using this type of fixture?

No, I have Breslein MH pendants. The only hassle you will have is that with a built in ballast they weigh a heck of a lot, so you'd better know what you're doing when you hang them from the roof/ceiling.

My Bresleins have remote ballasts so the pendant is considerably lighter, though still not light per se.

I would rather get the Aqua Medic stuff myself

Wow, for that price... that thing better make your bed and cook you breakfast. If you are looking to get one for your FW tank, I would DIY. Not sure if that is plausible for a SW tank.

i have not used their fixtures, but a while back I looked into them and they seem like a really good deal

Our LFS has one of these fixtures on their SW display tank. It's certainly a very slick unit. The store has been happy with it. The moonlighting on it is good, too.
