Yeah they work good. I have 2 screwed into a 10gallon hood and they give off alot of light. I wouldn't get them from drfosterandsmith because they charge way too much for them. If you head over to walmart they usually have them in their pet section for $5. Not made by coralife but work just as good.

Update:

I got two All-Glass 6500K bulbs and it made my tank at least twice as bright. The plants love it and the hood doesnt' get hot. I can now leave my lights on for the full length of the day without having to prop my hood up to keep the temp from rising.
