Mini Refugium

Has anyone ever used an old aquaclear filter for a small hob refugium.....I have a couple old 70's that have a large media box that I think I will try and grow some algae in ??????? think it would work? hopefully they would get enough light from the overheads in that direction......hmmm

you can also buy a little pc light for over it...nanoreefforums has a few pictures of peoples minifuges.

okay do you think one could keep a small amount of macroalgae in it....such as caulerpa or cheato?

If you do use it as a refugium try to lower the water flow and use something to block the rush of the water, Cheato can become a bunch of green strands all over your tank if the flow is too high

well all things considered, after spending bucks on an Aqua Remora Pro skimmer I am thinking of setting up a sump/refugium. Wonder if I can hang that skimmer on the sump. I think this is a better option. I have a 75 and want to set up a 50g sump.........hmmmmm too much? I was going to adapt an old aquarium with a cpr overflow .....
