mix with convicts

What kind of bottom feeders can be put with convict cichlids? I like the way that catfish look a little sharky. So I would really like one of them but anything else? Can I even put some sort of catfish and if so what kind? Thank you

How big is the tank? In 20 gallons or less with a breeding pair of convicts, I don't think you can add anything else. Maybe in a larger tank, depending on the type of catfish... someone else probably knows more than I do.

Cories like to wander about the bottom but convicts carve out a territory. What will happen is the cories will wander into the convicts yard and get a beating. This will be repeated until the cories are killed or the convict takes a break before killing the cories later. I've tried and ended up adding the cories to another tank. With any bottom feeder you are likely to encounter the same problem as bottom feeders are foragers. Chinese algae eaters and some loaches seem to do alright but I wouldn't get my hopes set on anything too fancy in such a small tank.
