Well I have 3 orange lyretail mollys, 1 of which has had popeye for a couple weeks now i dont get paid till the 25th so i haven't been able to get a Q tank to treat him. now it looks like the infection that was causing her popeye has formed into something else as well which is spreading to 1 of the other lyretails. now to go with the one lyre molly's popeye two lyre mollies have a sort of pinkish sore growing on thier body (still small and worse for the molly with popeye) around the head.

I have tested all my water parameters and everything is fine, they are acting perfectly normal eating and swimmin about. I did do a 15% water change last night just because it was the scheduled time to do it

What do you think I should do guys? any idea what the pinkish growth could be? remember i have a shark which is sensitive to many medications and small loaches so i cant salt the main tank if thats a solution.

should i quickly go get big bucket an airstone and use the water from my tank to sustain the mollies in a sorda temp Q tank? im really worried about this spreading to my other fish as they were perfectly fine last night at 2 am but now have sores. is it already too late are all my lovely fishie friends going to die from this?

I know a picture would help but I have to wait till later to use a friends picture phone to show you all which might be several hours :(

It sounds like a bacterial infection, possibly flexibacter. Have a look at the pics and description here: Flippersandfins.net Flexibacter article

Get an antibiotic from the fish store, choosing one with symptoms on the packet that most resemble what your fish have.

Sharks and loaches are generally fine with antibacterial medications. It's the malachite green and methylene blue in ich meds that are dangerous for them.

/gasp that looks scary, luckily what they have doesn't look like that lol. id have to say it looks alot like... well i suppose it looks like a human sore would from poisin ivy rash after heavy scratching or someone with a heavy cluster of pimples, u know irritated, bumpy, pink to red color. not really around the mouth either more behind the eyes on the side of the body

uuuuuuugh i hate cell phones but this is as good as i can get it.

as u can see there is an inflamed, rised spot under and behind the eye. tiny patches are now springing up on the other side of her face and a small patch has shown up on another lyre.

there is also a little bit of white raw/drylike chaffiness, around the swollen pink-red and a small dot or 2 of white in the rashes as well. more angry pink then anything tho.

I had two mollies die from popeye and ich two days after their two-week warrenty ran out. It's possible that they came with infections, if they are new. I used Macaryn TC, which turned my water red and foamed so much the platies couldn't eat. I'm using Melafix for fin rot, but it has clouded the water so much my plants don't get an light. If you have a smaller tank or even a large bowl and a sponge filter, that should work for a QT tank. (I'm not sure about this) If they don't seem to be getting better after a few weeks, you should probably euthanize them so they don't have to suffer.

Pimafix could be the fix?

They were both born and raised in my 55g so no chance of contamination from elsewhere. my girlfriends dad said he has encountered something similar in the past and gave me a bottle of pimafix to try since thats what worked for him.

anyone have any objections to this? im going to make a quick post asking if it will hurt my frogs tho since it says on the back to not use on reptiles ( yes a frog is amphibious but reptiles are sometimes considered in the same class as amphibians.

I wrote in your other post, too. To be honest, I think you'd be better off going for an antibiotic treatment like Maracyn 2 or Maracyn-Plus. I don't think the Pimafix will be strong enough for what sounds like a fast-spreading bacterial infection.
