I am interested in getting some of the Moorii Cichlids. More specifically the:

Duboisi Cichlid
Chewina Red Moorii Cichlid
Orange Flame Moorii Cichlid
Yellow Kaiser Moorii Cichlid
Kachese Moorii Cichlid

I was just wanting to know, if these can be housed together and if they can, how many? And if a 55 gallon is enough?? My tank has plenty of rock, driftwood and plants, so decor shouldn't be a problem.

I would appreciate any helpful tips. And if these guys wouldn't now work, what woud you guys suggest??

Thanks
- Jeremy

I've kept duboisi which are a separate species to Tropheus moorii. I wouldn't keep them together as the risk of crossbreeding strains is too high, and any resulting fry are unsellable trash. I think a 55 is big enough, though bigger is muchbetter, and they should be kept in large groups to minimise strain.
I would also advise that wild caught moorii have a rep for being difficult and aggressive, but I found my tank bred duboisi pretty steady. If you're not sure what you're doing get tank bred rather than wild caught fish. And do some research before you pay up.

yep - get it wrong and you'll loose a large group of very expensive fish

can be done - but be carefull and do lots of reading before you choose
