I saw a blue acara today and I dont think I can afford to get a pair of them $20 each! it might not be alot for serious fish peoples but sadly I dont..
I am getting a pair of angelfish and want to get some other colourful cichlid..any suggestions on easy to find cichlids that will get along with angelfish and are hardy fish that dont grow bigger then 9inches..and wont cost more then $12 each
thanks..
maybe when im 65yo and have a bigass tank and money to spend on it i can get my blue acara's.

convicts would be a bit too aggressive for angelfish.....actually MUCH too aggressive.

festivum cichlids are good with angelfish, and are found with them naturally in the wild....

rams could be ok, but i would go with bolivian rams over blue rams....they are hardier IMO.

those are my 2 choices, but there are several others out there....i cant think right now

woops sorry bout that . i was under the impression of convicts being the nicer of the chiclids .. wow do i got some reading to do on that subject wow my bad lol. that would have been a big mistake then. but still the idea on breeding the convicts is still cool and then trading them for the fish that they want right ?

Nope, because Convicts are so easy to breed nobody wants them. Its very fun at first....

Of course these pics don't show the magnitude of the convict breeding operation i have going on now. I have many more than the pics show :(

hehe cichlid man. I have had mine for a month now and no breeding. All kinds of actions like they are going to breed. But nothing yet..... I guess mine are messed up. But cool none the less.

How big is that last tank you have there.
